THE BETSY EDIT: PERSONALISING YOUR SPACE WITH PATTERNS

• Don’t be afraid to use patterns and a lot of them.  Patterns not only give you texture but can definitely modernise a space.

• Patterns can also be found in neutral colours vs. a dark colours.

• Adding patterned wallpaper can really take your space to the next level. Don’t be afraid to use patterned wallpaper on the walls and the ceiling, this will calm down the pattern and room rather than competing with a wall colour.  

• Another fun pattern idea is to wallpaper the ceiling and half of the wall and add a chair rail for the wallpaper to run into, following this with the last remaining wall painted with a fun colour. This will give your space a modern definition. 

• Add patterns to your wood floors, such as: herringbone or chevron. Another great option is to add tile patterned inlays to your wood floors like the front door, or even a tile inlay at the island. Instead of a rug, why not put in a stylish tile inlay?

• Lastly, a fun way to add patterns into your home is to add patterned tile to your front porch, bathroom, or mudrooms… you name it.  There are so many incredible patterned tiles that are in arms reach that really jazz up your home.
