THE COASTAL CRUSH
Welcome to the “Coastal Crush”! Our Architectural Design Team “The Flippin Designer” was hired to design a modern coastal gem on the beautiful Inter-coastal waterways located in Charleston, SC. This amazing couple was seeking a design firm that could design all assets of the home from exterior, interior finishes, furnishings to Landscape. They reached out to us since we are a one stop design firm that not only draws and designs new builds or full renovations, but will also supply a full set of construction plans for their contractor to quote from and work with.
When starting any type of design, I sit initially with my clients and get their ultimate wish list. This helps me work with my team on how we want to layout the home along with choosing the material and finishes. This new home we designed “The Coastal Crush” boast’s many custom designs. We designed custom cabinetry throughout the home along with glass doors and windows supporting their modern butler pantry to an open bookend stairwell with a classic bar and beverage station built in below. The floors are a beautiful white oak chevron design along with wood panel walls to tall doors and windows. I wanted the lighting in this home to be original to every room. I feel lighting is so important and works as art.
This couple has a love for their fur babies like we all do! We designed this amazing couple and their babies a dog spa right off their garage and courtyard. This spa is a pup’s dream! From drawers that pull out to steps for the pups to walk-in to their new bath and shower, to feeding stations and a place to relax while waiting for their fur siblings to be pampered. We also added a washer and dryer for easy cleanup without having to walk to the main home. We also incorporated a second master suite above the garage that can be accessed from the main home through an all-glass catwalk or exterior stairwell off garage parking. Another fun feature is our roof top deck that is lead from main home. This roof top deck is stunning! We have a gas fireplace, custom sofa benches to daybed swings along with a modern custom slatted roof. True southern retreat style!
This home also features modern landscape with pavers and turf walkways that lead to their infinity pool, boat dock and gardens. I added a custom outdoor shower that leads from our client’s master shower, but can also be accessed from the exterior as well. This is such a charmer! Super private, but the feel of a tropical island with all the surrounding coastal vegetation. We designed a full outdoor kitchen off the infinity pool along with chic outdoor furniture to kick back on and watch the boats cruise by. When designing the exterior of this home I wanted the back of home “waterfront side” to really have nice size porches on top and bottom to not only enjoy those warm days and evenings on, but to accommodate plenty of entertaining. From dining to daybed swings to two sided outdoor fireplaces this southern home is one’s best secret.
“The Coastal Crush” breaks ground this spring and we will continue to keep you informed on this project and many others.
